Top of the Mountain Meats has been operating in Calgary for eight years now, selling their grass-fed beef and other products at farmer's markets.
Top of the Mountain Meat's southeastern Alberta ranch is a place where cattle roam free and graze. The resulting meat has more flavor and is better for you.
Grass-fed meat doesn't contain hormones or antibiotics and has more vitamins than grain-fed meat, which are just some of the reasons for its growing popularity.
Today you can find them at the Crossroads Market in Calgary three times a week.
Beef from founder Nathan Manning's ranch is now being shipped to Tango's Gourmet Meats, which is being managed by Nathan's mother.
So far the new shop has been successful, with Top of the Mountain's grass-fed beef being sold alongside other meat and deli products.
